On our way back from the city, we just wanted to grab something to go and ended up here. I tried ordering through their webpage but it was a bit strange and didn't offer any options to order online before the day after. So we skipped calling and just went there. The place was basically empty, so it's strange that they did disable the online ordering... The lady behind the counter was super friendly and the food came out within 20 minutes. The ambience is very airy and modern. The menu is limited, which I like. Make a few things and make them well! The food was quite good, we ordered chicken and lamb/beef wraps arabica (cut in smaller pieces). The garlic sauce is crazy good as are the pickles that came with it. The fries however were good but WAY too salty. Absolut must-try: the lemon and mint drink!!!! When I got back to the car, I realized, I had eaten at this place before.... when its location was a few houses down and quite a bit smaller.

Wow this is delicious. If I worked nearby I'd be getting lunch here every day. I got the falafel wrap with fries and eggplant. It was huge.

Shawarmaji... Where do I even begin? We came around opening so there is plenty of seating. They moved across the street from their previous location. At the counter, you can buy jars of ghee and spices to use at home. The food came out after around 10 minutes and the staff suggested a few sauces to pair with each dish. My favorites have to be the garlic yogurt and spicy sauce. Every bite is so flavorful and you can't help taking bite after bite after bite. The crispy fries pair deliciously with the juicy lamb, creamy yogurt sauce, and acidic pickles. Dip the chicken wrap into the yogurt or spicy sauce for the perfect blissful bite. Happy to support this local business and have to say I'll thinking about Shawarmaji a lot when I'm hungry.

Clean, fast and healthy sandwiches. We got a falafel sandwich and a lamb sandwich. Both were made to order quickly, the sandwiches were delicious and the restaurant is nice for a quick lunch.

Food: The sandwich was amazing!!! It's a simple dish but the flavors were over the top. On top of that, they are very generous with the meat which is something I appreciate. Also, do not sleep on the mint lemonade! That was fire! Ambiance: The place was clean and a vibe!! From the lights to the posters, the place was welcoming. Service: It was excellent! Shoutout to Quincy who was a gem!

Shawarmaji is a locally owned restaurant in uptown Oakland. It has a medium sized dining room and is self service, where you order at the cash register. There are around 8 tables, and a wrap-around counter near the window with seating. The falafel wrap is moist and has preserved lemon inside the wrap, an excellent addition. The side order of pickles, hot chili sauce, and toum were a must in improving my wrap. This was definitely one of my top falafel experiences. The crispy fries were really good too. I did not order the chicken wrap, but it looked and smelled legit. I will be back for that chicken next time.

ShawarmaJESUS the food is GOOD!!! My partner and I devoured the chicken wrap, and it was enough to send us to heaven! The service was quick and straightforward. The vibe was unassuming and low-key, though the garbage bins were overflowing. Bustling open kitchen. Overall, definitely recommend!

Shawarmaji is a small hole-in-the-wall restaurant in uptown Oakland. I work directly across from there in the Center 21 building, which actually happens to be the same building that Shawarmaji will be relocating to! Yes, they have bought out a larger dining space right across the street from their current location so diners can expect a larger space soon. In the current location, the ambiance is dimmer mood lighting and there is plenty of seating. It is nicely decorated with plenty of wall decor and artwork. I believe the owner is Palestinian, so there is also pro-Palestine posters on the exterior glass and other middle eastern decor (although more contemporary). The cashier attended to me quickly and the food was brought to my table in a matter of minutes. The menu is not too varied-- the main meats are chicken, beef or lamb and the menu entree selections are mostly a variation of wraps. They also have vegan and vegetarian options in the form of salads and falafel. I got the chicken wrap. It was decently large (long?) for its price and I thought everything was seasoned very well. I don't eat a lot of middle eastern food and this was a great introduction. This place specifically I think is specialized in shawarmas/wraps, so don't expect to find a ton of middle eastern dishes to choose from. It might go without saying but this is an also good spot for anyone with a halal diet. I will also point out that the menu is written in both English and what I believe may be Arabic. All in all a great local restaurant for anyone looking to grab a quick bite with middle eastern flavors.

This place is underrated, they are so fast , so quick and ready with service also online . This place is a great spot for swarma it's so flavorful so full of great quality. Everything in the menu is great. I've never had a single bad experience the 20 times I been . The white sauce is hella fire. And the pickled things they give are amazing too.

This place is decent. The chicken fries are so good. Not sure if their is another portion size but it fits in a small box. The chicken is very flavorful and good. The fries are crispy. The falafels are 0.50 per piece, they are a little small but they pack flavor as well. They have a spicy chili sauce. That is spicy lol. A chipotle sauce I would rate 3/5. The tahini sauce is good and they have another sauce that I believe is a hummus. Overall I would come back to try other items. The service and people are very nice. The menu is small but I like menus that don't have tons of items because it means they can execute everything well.
